HSB privacy policy

This policy explains what the HSB application ("HSB"), operated by Caesar Software ("we"), does with information it receives when you sign in with your Google account.

Who HSB is for

HSB is an internal tool that publishes and manages videos for the How Systems Break YouTube channel. It is not offered to the public. The only intended user is the owner of that channel.

What data HSB accesses

With your permission, through the YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API, HSB accesses:

  • your YouTube channel's basic information (channel ID and title), to confirm which channel it is acting on;
  • the videos, playlists, captions and thumbnails on that channel, to upload new episodes and set or update their details;
  • aggregate statistics for that channel's videos, such as views and watch time, to plan future episodes.

HSB does not access your email, contacts, Google Drive, or any other Google service, and it does not access personal information about viewers of the channel.

How HSB uses the data

HSB uses this data only to publish and manage videos on the signed-in channel and to report that channel's own statistics back to its owner. It does not use the data for advertising, and it does not sell, rent or share it with anyone.

Storage and retention

HSB stores the OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to act on your channel, on infrastructure controlled by Caesar Software, protected by access controls. Channel statistics are kept only as long as needed to plan upcoming episodes. You can ask us to delete any stored data at any time, and we will do so within 30 days.

Limited Use

HSB's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

YouTube and Google

HSB uses YouTube API Services. By using HSB you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access

You can revoke HSB's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. After you revoke it, HSB can no longer act on your channel, and we delete the stored tokens.

Children

HSB is not directed at children and is not used by anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at this address.
